The Christian GOD vs. the Islamic God

Those who are either not well informed for either The Bible and Christianity or the Qu'ran and the religion of Islam tend to think that The Christian GOD and the God of Islam are the same, and are simply worshiped in a different manner. However this is not only un-true, this is insulting to Christians as they are disrespected by comparing the God of Islam to The GOD of Christianity. This is also disrespectful to Muslim's as they certainly will not agree that Jesus is GOD, despite the evidence proving His Divinity.

There are several differences between GOD and the god of the Qu'ran.

Comparison topic The GOD of Christianity The God of Islam Additional detail
State of being: Trinitarian (One GOD, three persons; The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit. One God, who is not trinitarian.

The role of Jesus as Son of GOD Jesus is GOD's Son. “Far be it from Allah to have a son”-Qu'ran.

Scripture believed to have been revealed The Bible The Qu'ran The two scriptures directly contradict each other several times.

Teachings

Forgive others (   )

It doesn't matter whether you forgive them or not. (Sura   )

Teachings

“But I tell you who hear me: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, 28bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. 29If someone strikes you on one cheek, turn to him the other also. If someone takes your cloak, do not stop him from taking your tunic. 30Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone takes what belongs to you, do not demand it back. 31Do to others as you would have them do to you."
-Luke 6:27-31

Remember thy Lord inspired the angels (with the message): "I am with you: give firmness to the Believers: I will instil terror into the hearts of the Unbelievers: smite ye above their necks and smite all their finger-tips off them." This because they contended against Allah and His Messenger: If any contend against Allah and His Messenger, Allah is strict in punishment. Thus (will it be said): "Taste ye then of the (punishment): for those who resist Allah, is the penalty of the Fire." O ye who believe! when ye meet the Unbelievers in hostile array, never turn your backs to them.  If any do turn his back to them on such a day - unless it be in a stratagem of war, or to retreat to a troop (of his own)- he draws on himself the wrath of Allah, and his abode is Hell,- an evil refuge (indeed)!"-Sura 8:17 Jesus (The GOD of Christianity says: love, bless and do on to others as you would have them due unto you.

The Qu'ran essentially says to strike those who strike you.

Bible Verses on The Doctrine of Assurance

Matthew 7:
7 “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.8 For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.
9 “Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? 10 Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? 11 If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him! 12 So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.

13 “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. 14 But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.

15 “Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. 16 By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? 17 Likewise, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them.

21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ 23 Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’
“Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. 26 But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. 27 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.”
28 When Jesus had finished saying these things, the crowds were amazed at his teaching, 29 because he taught as one who had authority, and not as their teachers of the law."
-Matthew 7:7-29

The "Islam is the fastest growing religion and therefore it is true" argument

The argument: Because Islam is the fastest growing religion, Islam is true.

The response: Simply because a religion is growing the most quickly does not mean the religion is necessarily true. If this were true, we would have to conclude that Christianity was true because at one time it was the fastest growing religion, I agree that Christianity is true, however to argue in this manner is invalid. Communism, grew quickly as well, it must be true then in this logic, apparently. If this logic is correct we must conclude that (I) Christianity was at one time true and that Communism was true as it was one of the fastest growing types of government.

The logic is:
I) Because Islam is the fastest growing religion...
II) Islam is true.

Therefore by that logic:
I) Because Christianity was the fastest growing religion...
II) Christianity was true. (As it spread very quickly)

Also by a similar logic:
I) Because Communism grew very quickly.
II) Therefore Communism is true.

What The Bible says about homosexuality and lesbianism

"20 “‘Do not have sexual relations with your neighbor’s wife and defile yourself with her.
21 “‘Do not give any of your children to be sacrificed to Molek, for you must not profane the name of your God. I am the Lord.
22 “‘Do not have sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman; that is detestable.
23 “‘Do not have sexual relations with an animal and defile yourself with it. A woman must not present herself to an animal to have sexual relations with it; that is a perversion."-Leviticus 18:20-23.

"12 “‘If a man has sexual relations with his daughter-in-law, both of them are to be put to death. What they have done is a perversion; their blood will be on their own heads.
13 “‘If a man has sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They are to be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.
14 “‘If a man marries both a woman and her mother, it is wicked. Both he and they must be burned in the fire, so that no wickedness will be among you.
15 “‘If a man has sexual relations with an animal, he is to be put to death, and you must kill the animal."-Leviticus 20:12-15. (Click here in order to read the verse in context of Leviticus 20)

"21 For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22 Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools 23 and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like a mortal human being and birds and animals and reptiles.
24 Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. 25 They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen.
26 Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones. 27 In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error.
28 Furthermore, just as they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, so God gave them over to a depraved mind, so that they do what ought not to be done. 29 They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, 30 slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; 31 they have no understanding, no fidelity, no love, no mercy. 32 Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them."-Romans 1:21-32. (Click here for the context in Romans 1)

"9 Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men[a] 10 nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God."-1 Corinthians 6:9-10.

How do we know The Gospel's were written in the first century

We know the Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John) were written within the first century for two reasons.

I) The Gospels were very often quoted by early Christians in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th century's. They are quoted so often in fact that almost the whole New Testament is quoted.

II) The Gospels reflect the religious views, political views and the culture of Judea, Samaria and Galilee.
