What The Bible teaches: "And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, n order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. or it is by Grace you have been saved, through faith--and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of GOD--not by works, so that no one can boast"-Ephesians 2:6-9.
"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."-Romans 6:23.
According to The Bible we are saved by faith through GOD's Grace, which as Grace is undeserved.
What the Roman Catholic church teaches:

In it only a few people, eight in all, were saved through water, 21 and this water symbolizes baptism that now saves you also—not the removal of dirt from the body but the pledge of a clear conscience toward GOD. It saves you by the resurrection of Jesus Christ, 22 who has gone into heaven and is at God’s right hand—with angels, authorities and powers in submission to Him."-1 Peter 3:19-22.

- “The grace of Christ is the gratuitous gift that God makes to us of his own life, infused by the Holy Spirit into our soul to heal it of sin and to sanctify it. It is the sanctifying or deifying grace received in Baptism,” (CCC 1999).
