King Solomon had ships go with Hiram's (The king of Tyre) ships. They would come back from their travels every three years with a cargo of gold, silver, ivory, apes and baboons (or peacocks). 

"The king had a fleet of trading ships at sea along with the ships of Hiram. Once every three years it returned, carrying gold, silver and ivory, and apes and baboons."-1 Kings 10:22. (Literally in Hebrew it is of ships of Tarshish.)
