Christian Monotheism vs. Mormon polytheism

Although in more recent decades Mormon's have tried to show themselves as another Christian
"Denomination" they cannot do so, without abandoning some of the more major teachings of the Mormon church, one such teaching is that there are many gods. The Bible, has in the past and does teach that there is One True GOD, in three Persons: The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit.

The Bible and Christianity say: There is one GOD:
"O LORD, there is none like Thee, neither is there any GOD beside thee, according to all that we have heard with our ears"-1 Chronicles 17:20
" For I am GOD, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me.- Isaiah 46:9
Tell ye, and bring them near; yea, let them take counsel together: who hath declared this from ancient time: who hath told it from that time? have not I the LORD? And there is no GOD else beside me; a just GOD and a Savior; there is none beside me."- Isaiah 43:10-11
"1I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone— 2for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. 3This is good, and pleases GOD our Savior, 4who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. 5For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, 6who gave himself as a ransom for all men—the testimony given in its proper time. 7And for this purpose I was appointed a herald and an apostle—I am telling the truth, I am not lying—and a teacher of the true faith to the Gentiles."
-1 Timothy 2:1-7

Mormonism and the book of mormonism teaches: There are many gods (polytheism) "And then the Lord said: Let us go down. And they went down at the beginning, and they, that is the Gods, organized and formed the heavens and the earth. And the earth, after it was formed, was empty and desolate, because they had not formed anything but the earth; and darkness reigned upon the face of the deep, and the Spirit of the Gods was brooding upon the face of the waters. And they (the Gods) said: Let there be light; and there was light. And they (the Gods) comprehended the light, for it was abright; and they divided the light, or caused it to be divided, from the darkness. And the Gods called the light Day, and the darkness they called Night. And it came to pass that from the evening until morning they called anight; and from the morning until the evening they called day; and this was the first, or the beginning, of that which they called day and night."-The book of "Abraham" 4:1-5.

"Hence, the doctrine of a plurality of Gods is as prominent in the Bible as any other doctrine. It is all over the face of the Bible . . . Paul says there are Gods many and Lords many . . . but to us there is but one God--that is pertaining to us; and he is in all and through all," (History of the Church, vol. 6, p. 474). "In the beginning, the head of the Gods called a council of the Gods; and they came together and concocted a plan to create the world and people it," (Journal of Discourses, vol. 6, p. 5).

"I have always declared God to be a distinct personage, Jesus Christ a separate and distinct personage from God the Father, and the Holy Ghost was a distinct personage and a Spirit: and these three constitute three distinct personages and three Gods," (Teachings of Prophet Joseph Smith, pg. 370)

"I will preach on the plurality of Gods. I have selected this text for that express purpose. I wish to declare I have always and in all congregations when I have preach on the subject of the Deity, it has been the plurality of Gods. It has been preached by the Elders for fifteen years."-Section Six 1843-44, pg 370. And so on, continuing from thence.
